Yes. Most GTA DJs take a retainer to hold the date, with the balance due before or on the event date. Get the retainer amount, the balance schedule, and the cancellation terms in writing.

How far in advance should we book?

Peak South Asian wedding season in the GTA runs roughly May through October, and prime Saturdays often go 8–12 months ahead. Off-peak dates and weeknights are usually available with 2–4 months of notice.

Does a DJ cost more if the venue is outside Toronto?

Within the core GTA, travel is usually included. For Hamilton, Barrie, Kitchener–Waterloo or Niagara, expect travel and sometimes accommodation to be quoted separately for late finishes.
